4 lb. dry beans (soak overnight)
3 qt. water (enough to cover beans)
4 lb. bacon
4 (8oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 tsp.
hickory smoke
Approx. 6 T. salt (to taste)
1 c. sugar

Cook beans with water and salt. Fry bacon and add grease to beans. Simmer for 2 1/2 hours or until soft. Add tomato sauce and hickory smoke during the last 30 minutes. If more thickness is desired add 1 T corn starch and 1/4 c. of water.
