1 c. butter 1 lb. brown sugar dash salt 1 c. Karo syrup 1 - 15 oz. sweetened condensed milk 1 t. vanilla Melt butter in a heavy saucepan. Add brown sugar and salt and stir until blended. Add the Karo syrup; mix well. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until it reaches 245 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into a buttered 9x9 pan. Cool and cut into squares. Wrap with waxed paper or cling wrap. JoEllen Lambright Back to Candy Recipes |
