3 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 T. milk or cream
1 1/2 t. vanilla

Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, cream well. Stir in egg, cream and vanilla. Add dry ingredients gradually; mix well. Chill. Roll out, 1/3 at a time on floured surface to 1/8″ thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 for 5 – 8 minutes, until delicately browned. Cool and decorate.
